“It’s not about being the best, it’s about being better than you were yesterday.”

My name is Ms. Ursetta and I am so excited to be teaching Math 8 and Algebra 1 at EMS this year. This is my first year at EMS and is my 5th year teaching. I am a Colorado native and previously received my Bachelor degree in Business Marketing from the University of Colorado Boulder. While I pursued this career path, working at an advertising agency and various other jobs, I decided that I wanted to pursue teaching math and began my path with receiving my teaching license and Master of Science degree from the University of Colorado Denver.
In the Fall of 2013 I applied and accepted a job at my former high school, Pomona, in Arvada. I jumped at the opportunity to work there and taught Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and a modified Algebra 2 for the past 4 years. While I was teaching math I also took on the role of Student Council Sponsor and spent the past 3 years running that program. This was an exciting, memorable, rewarding experience that I will always cherish. This year I had the opportunity to apply and accept the job at EMS and am looking forward to the relationships I will build here.

Outside of the classroom I enjoy hanging out with my boyfriend and our two dogs. You can bet that if the Broncos are on we are either watching from home or the stadium. I also come from a very large family and spend a lot of my time with them. I really enjoy traveling and experiencing new things. It is an understatement to say I am thrilled to be at EMS and can’t wait to see what this year brings.
