RAM's WatchDOGS

Our Ram's WatchDOGS volunteer each morning to help the drop off procedure run as smoothly as possible. Please remember to adhere to the Parking Lot Protocols that can be found on the EMS home page menu.

Here are a few important highlights:

• Always pull as far forward as possible before stopping to drop off your student
• Stop, drop and go
• Please fill both lanes when you pull all the way forward
  • Both lanes of the upper and lower lots can turn left
  • Use the "zipper" method to alternate if you need to turn left onto Hiwan
• Always drop off in the right hand lanes (upper and lower lot) only
  • This will keep your student from crossing in front of traffic

Upcoming Parties to benefit EMS PTA

One of the ways we are fundraising this year is through PARTIES. Attending a party is a great way to meet new EMS parents, have fun, and support the PTA. Please email Christine Thompson at [email protected] to get on a party list. Then write a check payable to EMS PTA, and in the memo line write the name of the party. You can drop off your check, payable to EMS PTA, to Finance Secretary Brigid Skipper at the EMS front office. Here's to great times while supporting our great school!

Game Night--April 22, 2017---6 SPOTS LEFT!

Game Night Party for Adults only. Saturday, April 22, 2017, from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Whether you have a good poker face or you're a winner at trivia, this party is just for you! Join us for a fun Game Night at the Sumner's house, where you can play to win or just have fun being part of a team! Heavy hor d'oeurves, wine and beer will be served. Hosted by Sumners, Days, Barwells, Ocaseks, and Pooles. $40.00 per person.

Wine on the Rocks--May 11, 2017

A guided hike of Maxwell Falls with an appetizer and wine picnic on the rocks above the falls. Thursday, May 11, 2017 $25.00 per person.

House Party in Soda Creek--May 19, 2017

Enjoy a night out with your friends at Alexandra and Phil Davis' House in Soda Creek with local band--"Subject to Change." 75 people---adults only. Enjoy drinks, tapas, good music, and good company. Gather a group of friends and go together. Date: Friday, May 19, 2017. $25.00 per person.

Hiwan Golf Par-Tee. It's Time to Tee off Kids! A Mini-Golf Lesson, 2-Hole Scramble, and Putting Contest, followed by Lunch---all on Early Release Day--Friday, April 28, 2017! Limited to 10 participants. Hosted by Susan Guest and Shena Cothran. $50.00 per student.

BBQ and Basketball!--Sunday, May 6th from 4:00 - 7:00 pm.--8 SPOTS LEFT!

Father & Son Basketball and BBQ Party. Early May from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Join us for a fun afternoon of basketball and BBQ at the Ocasek's new outdoor court! Whether you play like LeBron James or admire Michael Jordan--it will be an afternoon of friendly competition, good food, and good times. Hosted by Ocaseks and Sumners ($50 price includes the Dad and son).

Student of the Month

The Student of the Month Program allows EMS staff & faculty the opportunity to nominate students who have been EXCEPTIONAL and deserve to have special recognition. Nominees have a pizza lunch with Mr. Vialpando at which time he announces why they were nominated and which faculty nominated them. The students also receive a certificate and have their photo displayed on the bulletin board in the central staircase.

Students may be nominated for several reasons

• demonstration of good leadership
• advancement in academic progress
• showing respect for others
• exhibiting behaviors that match our school's mission or vision statement

Please, remember to keep using the reloadable grocery cards for King Soopers and Safeway. For every dollar spent with the card 5% goes back to Evergreen Middle School PTA. Support EMS by doing something you already do - purchasing groceries and gasoline. As an incentive, every month, we will be giving away a $25 gift card to one lucky person that spends $200 or more that month. PTA Volunteer Opportunities

EMS PTA supports Evergreen Middle School with fundraising efforts and fun student events throughout the year! One of the ways parents and guardians can stay involved is to participate in PTA. We have many areas for everyone to volunteer that works with your schedule and availability. You do not have to attend PTA meetings to volunteer in a certain area. Additionally, if you are interested in a leadership position or helping in a more substantial role, we need you as we are already recruiting for key positions for next school year!
